A Root canal becomes necessary when a tooth develops, or will soon develop, an infection in its inner, soft tissue.
Occasionally, the nerve or pulp within the tooth can become infected. In order to preserve the tooth, we will remove the infection.
This is done by disinfecting the canal area within the root of the tooth by killing the bacteria causing the infection, and filling the canal so that the infection is unlikely to recur.
